What to Expect
We know that when you are looking for a veterinarian for your beloved pets, you want to be able to trust that they’re getting the best, most compassionate care possible. At Colonial Animal Hospital, we’ve assembled an expert team of professionals who are not only experienced and dedicated, but truly love what they do and want the best for your animal companion.
It’s very important that as a new client, you bring with you or advise us of your pet’s previous medical history including behavioral changes. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early and let us know anything about your pet you feel is important—our staff and veterinarians can work with whatever information you have.
At Colonial Animal Hospital, we are committed to preventive medicine, so you can expect that our veterinarians will recommend, at minimum, an annual exam for your pet. This annual exam will include a full physical, testing for internal parasites, discussions about nutrition and behavior. We may also suggest blood screening based on your pet’s life stage and other testing based on any observed or reported symptoms. In the long run, these preventive measures will not only keep your pet healthy longer but will also save you money.
We feel that part of providing great veterinary care is client education, so we will always do our best to clearly and thoroughly communicate any health issues and proposed treatments so you can make the right decision for your pet. In some circumstances, our doctors may refer your pet to a specialist with advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.
Finally, if at any time you are disappointed in our services or feel we could do something to make your visit better, feel free to let us know while you are there. Our staff is very committed to making sure our clients and patients are satisfied and treated with respect.
