With over 30 years of veterinary experience, Dr. Allison Fennell has built a reputation for compassionate care, innovative medicine, and a genuine commitment to the health and well-being of animals.

Her passion for veterinary medicine began during her childhood on a family farm in Jamaica, where she cared for sick and injured animals. Following graduation, she completed an internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C., and briefly served on the D.C. Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

Dr. Fennell joined Colonial Animal Hospital in 2004 and became a co-owner shortly thereafter. Throughout her years at Colonial, she has remained dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care while building lasting relationships with pets and their families.

Her approach to veterinary medicine focuses on compassion, client education, and personalized preventative care. She believes in working closely with pet owners to ensure they understand their pets’ health needs and feel confident in their care decisions.
